The clinical activity covers different fields of the equine medicine, the most important being

the latter including both elective and emergency procedures.

The orthopedic patient can be admitted for clinical examination for lameness, followed by different modalities of diagnostic imaging (radiology, ultrasonography, scintigraphy) or referred for surgery: from elective procedures, like arthroscopy, to emergency situations (fractures, joint sepsis and different soft tissue injuries). Surgery also includes cases of upper respiratory tract diseases and general surgery (eye, genitourinary, skin surgery for example).

Most of the emergency cases refer to colic, managed both medically and surgically.
